About Therapy

If there’s one thing I want my clients to understand, it’s that they are enough.

Why is that so hard to accept?

Most people are stuck on an endless treadmill of feeling bad about themselves: their looks, their relationships, their accomplishments, etc.

They exhaust themselves trying to please others while never truly enjoying a feeling of peace and belonging.

That’s where I come in.

My job is to help get you out of this cycle and into a place filled with self-acceptance, confidence, and ease, which will support you in having the kinds of relationships, achievements, and peace of mind you deserve.

I’m here to listen to you and support you… whatever your struggles.

I’m here to help you identify what’s been holding you back from living the life you want.

I’m here to help you trust and value yourself.

How will we do it?

By recognizing your stories, you can change them and ultimately change how you feel about yourself.

We’ll use mindfulness, which means cultivating awareness with an attitude of acceptance. In practice, this entails learning to observe your thoughts and notice them without judgment.

Let’s say you have a story that you’re not creative. To start, you’ll notice it and identify where it comes from. Together, we’ll identify the experiences that led you to believe that. Maybe your mom told you that you’re not creative – that no one in your family is – and you believed it. As a result, you never pursued art or design because you were already convinced you wouldn’t be good at it.

First, we’ll work on awareness and self-compassion. Then we’ll focus on shifting your thinking in a way that emphasizes being kind to yourself. You’ll recognize that you never gave yourself a chance to nurture your creativity and see what could develop.

Finally, we’ll create a new story that is both honest and kind. Perhaps you’ll recognize your inherent creativity and now have the opportunity to see what’s possible for you, so you decide to take a painting class.

What can I expect after therapy?

Life will feel easier and more enjoyable…

You’ll trust yourself and your decisions…

You’ll handle challenges with more confidence…

You’ll be more connected to yourself and others…

You’ll experience a more authentic version of yourself.

About Me

I get it because I was there, too.

No matter how much I accomplished or praise I received, I never felt like it was enough.

In my therapy, my self-awareness deepened, and I learned how to manage my anxiety and self-judgment. I learned to have compassion for myself and accept myself fully.

I learned that I am enough just as I am.

What therapy with me is like . . .

It’s a collaborative process. We connect and work together to help you grow and create change in your life. I listen deeply, so you feel seen, heard, and understood – so you know that you matter.

Clients say that I am authentic, grounded, warm, and accepting. They say that they appreciate my ability to explore, support, and challenge all at the same time.

I create a safe, nonjudgmental space in which nothing is off-limits. In our work together, you will learn to value yourself and feel more at peace in your life.

You’ll recognize and understand the connection between your past and the present, heal old wounds, learn the skills to communicate more effectively, and begin to live unapologetically.

Some of the credentials behind my practice…

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania. I then earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Miami, where my research focused on gratitude and mindfulness. I am currently licensed in both New York and California.

I began practicing yoga in 1999 and was immediately smitten. I got certified in Ishta Yoga (Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda) in 2002 and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in 2016. My approach integrates over 20 years of yoga and mindfulness practice.

When I am not in session with my clients…

I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, family, and friends.

I also enjoy reading, practicing yoga, exercising, playing Scrabble, and watching The Bachelor/Bachelorette (no shame here!).

Let’s get started. Right here, right now…

Experience more ease in your life, learn to manage your thoughts and emotions better, and have more satisfying relationships. Therapy can help get you there.

It would be my honor to support you in reaching your goals. Let’s work together to find a healthier, happier you.
